Summer Body Weight Loss Goals…’Being Invisible’
Weight Loss Goals are individual things, as individual as we are as people. In my office I hear a plethora of goals being set from clients, for example “I want to fit into my dress for the wedding”, “I so want to wear a bikini at the beach” to “I need to drop 2 dress sizes” you name it I’ve heard all the reasons why. Until this morning that is. I heard something which not only surprised me but made me a little sad too.
My two gorgeous BeTrim clients Mr and Mrs, who committed to turning their lives around a few months ago by losing weight, getting more active and changing their lifestyle – namely the alcohol consumption, were so excited with their weight loss results. So so excited!
Well how much weight have they lost I hear you ask?
I’m actually not even going to mention the number because it really doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter because their goal was to become invisible. Yes that’s correct – their goal was to become unseen.
“Invisible? What does that mean?” I asked. To which I got this reply, ‘invisible means that you can blend in with everyone else. You can go to the supermarket and do your shopping without the judgmental eyes of the other people in the store checking out what you put into your trolley. Invisible means you can go to the pastry shop and wait in line to buy the office morning tea, without the gossiping and giggling of people staring at you while you wait. And invisible means wearing colours. Bright coloured tops like pink, blue, orange and yellow. A shade other than black’.
Being invisible means that even on a 30 degree day you can wear a top without a jacket, or a pair of shorts and you just blend in like everyone else.
The stand out quote from today’s conversation was Mrs comment “society can forgive just about anything except for being fat”.
